Review on Chic And Sleek: Black Satin Overbust Corset With Strong Boning And Lace-Up Detail - Available In White And Red by Kelsey Watson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Be conscientious when reading other reviews.

OK, so first off, I wanna say the only reason I bought this was because I really just needed a corset for a halloween costume, and I wasn't planning on wearing it to waist train or wear it consistently, and didn't want to spend a bunch on an overly elaborate corset. It arrived within a week of ordering it, and it was really good quality for the price, looks like it could be worth more. The boning is really strong, has a modestly panel (which is important if you don't want your back showing through the ribbons), and the clips in the front hold up really nicely. My main concern when ordering was sizing. Many of the reviews were VERY misleading about how "tiny" this corset is. Granted, corset sizing is different and they are SUPPOSED to be smaller than normal Also, keep in mind that not every body type will look good in this. Many of the very negative reviews, sorry to say, were written by what seemed to be much larger women by the measurements they gave.I am 5"5", 138 pounds, 35 inch bust, 29 inch waist, 36-38 inch hip/butt area depending on the time of month. I have more lean muscle mass but by no means am I very thin or skinny. I read about women ordering 4 or 5 sizes up and not being able to fit into a 6XL. I think that has less to do with the corset sizing, and more to do with the shape of women ordering this item. I am not trying to be mean, but not all clothes are for all body shapes!I wear a medium in clothes almost ALWAYS, and decided to buy a large, and it fit perfectly. When tightened as far as I plan to wear it, there is only 1.5-2 inches space of ribbon in the back, which the modesty panel covers and you can't see my skin through the ribbon.Point is, you do NOT have to order 4-5 sizes up, unless you have a body shape that isn't really suited for this kind of attire. However, if you're around average size, I would order a size, maybe two sizes up, MAX. I thought I would need an XL but when the L came, I was happy that I didn't order an XL, it would have been a little too big, I think.Hope this helps!
