This two piece set does exactly what it's supposed to do. This makes it possible to make "two" out of an existing single CAT5/6 Ethernet cable line. This allows you to use a second port on your router or switch to a different location on the end of an ethernet cable so you can get away without running a second ethernet cable. I used to manually re-solder the ends of the ethernet cable to split it in two, but this adapter makes the process so much easier, no more reconnecting. If you think that you can turn one ethernet port into two with this device, you are wrong, it cannot. This is not a network switch
