I was shocked to hear this hammock ended another ferret's life so I gave it 4 stars. Although I was a bit uncomfortable with the purchase, I saw several other people buying this for a fur baby, so I decided to test this item myself. Seams that may pose a problem over time after wear. I've looked at all the loose ropes and trimmed whatever I could and it looks like it'll make a good temporary hammock. (I'm still a little apprehensive about using it). as close to the item as possible and also HAND WASH this item in cold water as the washer/dryer will damage it. My ferret seems to enjoy it and my ferret has enough room to stretch or curl up. The hooks that you attach to the cage feel strong and the material is really soft. UPDATE Month 1 - fibers in the fabric shed Month 2 - stitches have come out Month 3 - the strap attaching to the cages has a seam that has come out DO NOT BUY
