I couldn't decide between this and the van for our beach trip so I ordered both and tried to fit everything in them. The cart could definitely carry more things. I think it would have been easier to maneuver the cart through the aisles and tight spots because there was definitely no such thing in the car. I only returned it because everything didn't fit. My kids also thought the van looked better. By the way, I didn't see a single person with them during our entire trip to the beach. All had wagons.
- WHEELS - Rear wheels are large 10" in diameter and 4" deep. The large size allows the trolley to ride on the sand on the surface and not sink into the sand. (2) The front wheels swivel for easy steering and are 4 inches high. On concrete, the cart is designed to be pushed from behind for better visibility and control. In the sand, the trolley is only designed for large rear wheels. Getting around on two wheels in the sand is the most efficient way to get around in the sand.
