Review on πŸ’ͺ Maximize Protection and Power for Your TV, Office, or Gaming Setup with ECHOGEAR 8 Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip by Jonathan Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Probably the best wired surge protector

I would prefer a wall mounted surge protector. However, the cables on some of my devices won't allow this, so I have to choose a surge protector. This surge protector from Echogear, as I looked for advice while browsing various websites, is an excellent surge protector for small and sensitive home appliances such as laptops, printers, tablets and cell phones (this particular surge protector does not have a USB port). The surge protector works well and I like its low profile. The green LEDs (grounded and protected) aren't as obtrusive as some reviewers make out. On the contrary, this is a plus point for me, as I can see immediately whether my devices are protected or not. The 8 sockets are well spaced, allowing for a maximum of three larger adapters. But that's not all. Unlike many other wired surge protectors, this one offers 3420 joules, which is more than enough for most home users. Plus, unlike most other surge protectors, it comes with a 5-year warranty and a guarantee against damage to connected equipment. Others only offer a 1-2 year warranty at best and only secondary insurance coverage. In addition, unlike most other line filters, the clamping voltage is clearly indicated - 330 V for LN 400 V LG and 400 V NG. Almost all wizards and reputable rating websites advise looking for surge protectors that offer 330V or less; Anything over 400V is considered too high. All in all, a real added value for everyone who needs overvoltage protection.

Pros
  • Oversized power plugs are also welcome here. With extra space between 3 outlets, you won't block other plugs. Plus, it can be wall mounted, giving you power wherever you need it.
Cons
  • Expensive
