Already weathered a storm - like a bright LED

We've had this surge protector for a few weeks now. A computer is connected to it. During this time we had several thunderstorms, one with nearby lightning strikes. Although no electronics in the home were damaged in this impact, this computer was actually powered on during the storm and was not damaged. As a side note, I like the highly visible LED as it makes it easy to see that the surge protector is still working and isn't sacrificing itself to protect the devices connected to it. (Update…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Slim, sleek and understated, not 100% accurate

Pretending to be thin, sleek and understated. What is the actual base unit? It is missing factor 1, which would make the statement true. The end of the plug that plugs into the outlet is the standard large, bulky 3-prong ground end. Why not use 3 flat prongs to make it a true statement from every angle. In most cases, people invest in a power strip or advanced multi-outlet surge protector. Because access to the main source of energy is a royal pain in the penis, and doing it once is enough…

Pros
  • This is amazing

  • Useless features

Only those advertised as fireproof!

Excellent surge protector AND the only one advertised as "flame retardant (metal oxide varistor encapsulated in ceramic)". burned a significant hole in the carpet and filled our home office with acrid smoke! Luckily we were home at the time and were able to quickly put out the fire. These Echogears also feature high joules, a light to alert you when your joules are depleted and your electronics are out of surge protection, and sliding tabs to cover unused outlets (helps keep dust out of…

Great Little Power Strip Power Strip/Surge Protector

So it's weird to consider a surge protector, but here it is. First, the build quality is very good, it doesn't feel cheap. I'm a big fan of the orange and black colorway. An elegant LED is integrated into the transparent plastic logo on the back of the protector. It glows green to let you know everything is ok. I like that it's brighter and not hard to see. I always hate the ones that have a tiny light that you can't quickly check. The cord you put in the wall is a good thick gauge and doesn't…

Pros
  • Power and protect up to 8 devices simultaneously with the premium 3420W surge protector. Don't worry, the 3420J protects all your expensive electronic devices for a long time.
Cons
  • Expensive

The cord can't stretch more than 6 feet, good buy.

The product corresponds to the description. 4 stars for the rubber band. The cable length is as advertised (I measured it) and must not exceed the factory length. The rest is worth the money. I like the green "protected" indicator. Just note that you MUST press the red switch at the end for the light to come on and the strip to work. This extension cord is different than most of the cheaper ones you can buy at the dollar store and I think it's a great safety feature. I used a bracket to isolate

Pros
  • Keeps your devices running better and longer by filtering out harmful signals from the power supply. Constructed from flame retardant MOVs (they absorb extra stress) to keep your home safe.
Cons
  • I don't remember

Probably the best wired surge protector

I would prefer a wall mounted surge protector. However, the cables on some of my devices won't allow this, so I have to choose a surge protector. This surge protector from Echogear, as I looked for advice while browsing various websites, is an excellent surge protector for small and sensitive home appliances such as laptops, printers, tablets and cell phones (this particular surge protector does not have a USB port). The surge protector works well and I like its low profile. The green LEDs…

Pros
  • Oversized power plugs are also welcome here. With extra space between 3 outlets, you won't block other plugs. Plus, it can be wall mounted, giving you power wherever you need it.

  • Expensive
