I got it today and started testing it out; thus far, everything appears fine except the FM radio. The setting activates and imposes silence. Nothing is improved by either scanning or typing in manually. After the fact, I learned that China had stopped providing radio-equipped walkie-talkies, prompting Western countries to request the shipment of older stock. It's unfortunate if the market's claims turn out to be false and the consumers end up feeling duped. Then there's the headset, on which pressing the transmit button yields no response. I get the impression that this button was salvaged from a different walkie-talkie, as I'd previously used a UV-5R, which didn't have a similar capsule. Other from double-checking the microphone, everything appears to be in working order for transmission and receiving. You should expect the radio and the headset to be inoperable if you take it.
