First of all I am a newbie. This mic is a good entry-level USB mic with one caveat. I'm not sure if there's a hidden setting somewhere, but I almost have to kiss it to get audio recorded on my laptop at every volume I can recognize. That's a lot closer than I expected. I can't speak too softly, even when I'm right on it. Otherwise I'm happy with the mic and for the most part it does what I need it to do. If there are any tricks to increase the sensitivity of the recording, then that's an amazing value. For now I keep it in good/reasonable condition. Another little thing - shock absorption - are a couple of rubber bands. Might work well with stiffer tires as mine don't fit as well.
