Easy to assemble- my outdoor kitty took only a couple of days to get used to it. We placed it on a porch with an overhang so it stays dry. The heater pad inside the house is on an outside outlet and now ( winter) is always on. We placed it under the overhang on the raised porch because Water can also get inside the house via the door ( we did not use the plastic door cover as we knew kitty would be to fearful- she is very skittish-) after 4 winters and summers she finally has a warm bed that she likes to cuddle up in- I can see she loves it.
