Why? Why not just use matches? Or a butane gas lighter? Well in my case I had a long butane grill lighter and it ran out of butane. No problem, I'll fill up. I WILL NOT GO TO CALIFORNIA! Butane distribution is limited in California. Revane won't deliver; it is not commercially available. So I could resort to long wooden matches, but I decided to give it a try. Pros: Quickly lights candle wicks once you get the hang of it. Fast charging Charging via USB is very easy. There are no spent matches to dispose of; no toxic butane. Cons: I wish the gooseneck was a little longer. The spacing between the electrodes is narrow, making it difficult to light things like firelighters or kindling. At first glance, this seems to me to be an unnecessary use of technology. And yet I have it, I need it and in general I like it.
