I haven't had a good experience with this grainy screen. It will not fit the standard 5 gallons. The bucket is generally tight, it needs to be modified to be a tight fit and NOT float which will stir up the sand that I'm trying to settle at the bottom of the bucket. I have a few buckets and have yet to come across a bucket that has a cone at the bottom holding it in place. If stirring the sand doesn't bother you, fine. If you need a snug fitting strainer that stays in place, check out the bucket/strainer kits available from suppliers.
