At first glance these sheets were VERY thick and heavy. I was sure they would be hot and my husband slept soundly. We sleep in a room that never exceeds 65 degrees and he sleeps with a sheet and POSSIBLY a thin blanket in the coldest of winters. Meanwhile, I'm lying on the other side of our bed with the covers half folded. When I first took them out of the box I thought that they were not only thick but also a bit stiff. I just wasn't sure if it would work. I have to say that I was immediately struck by the depth of the pockets and the thick elastics at the corners. We usually use these stretchy sheet clips to secure the corners of the sheets to our mattress because one of my husband's favorite pet peeve is when the sheets fall off the mattress in the middle of the night. After washing the sheets and putting them on the bed, I was still a bit worried about the firmness and thickness. But after sleeping in them for a week, they became softer and their thickness looks really luxurious. Thick straps are held firmly without the use of sheet metal clips. Never came off In general for such a price I recommend!
