I was looking for a self-closing shaker that can be completely disassembled for deep cleaning. This one can do it, although you have to pull out a few plastic pins to do it, so I wouldn't do it every time you fill it. (And pay attention to the orientation of the spring as it is not symmetrical). There are only three (relatively large) holes that don't bother. The shaker closes well enough to hold the salt, but it's not completely airtight and might not stop a determined ant.
