Center hole is 17/32 larger than cable even on 12k winches. That's how it will slide - I used some large zip ties afterwards to keep it from moving. The hardware is not stainless steel, or at least not high quality stainless steel (since I can pick them up with a magnet), so they rust. The nuts are not fixed either. I used screw lock and put a clear coat on them to help. They smell bad - very bad, like cheap Chinese oil, but once installed it doesn't matter. My wife made me put it outside when I opened the package - so wait to open it while you're not in your garage ;) Good thing they include an Allen key for the hardware, she seem to work well and don't feel weak so I think this will work well. You can easily use this on a jeep or truck winch
