Super cheap and doesn't match expensive cables. I would go again but would probably cost more than it's worth. would not recommend

I tried a winch rope stopper on my SxS winch. I switched to a synthetic rope so I thought I'd better stop and this thing really squeezes the rope, I don't get any movement from it at all. Will definitely be buying another one once we install the winch on my wife's quad.

Good product. Made from solid rubber and looks durable. This works on my ATV. However, the hole in the middle is bigger than I thought. I didn't think synthetic rope would work as it might be too big. The D-ring at the end of the cable prevents the entire cable from slipping out.

Easy to install. Comes with a hex key but you will need a 10mm socket to keep the nut from turning. The inner diameter is a little large for squeezing a metal cable or small plastic rope, but it will hold the outer plastic sheath of the rope at the end of the hook but not tight. It offers a hacker which is the main purpose.

This works well enough to keep the winch hook from going through my fairlead. However, if you constantly apply force to it, e.g. eg by pulling it into the clew too much and leaving it there it will deform in shape a bit but I assume this is just a normal property of the rubber used to make a stopper. .

Well it might save your finger from being pinched but it got in my finger before I decided to order it. I pulled the cable too slack when I pressed the wrong button on the remote and he pulled the hook and my finger right through the roller guides. "Yes, it was stupid of me." But now, even if I or someone else made that mistake. the cork prevented it from being sucked in.

I just recently ordered my third hook stopper in two years. It works fine as long as you don't pull the cable in too far and push the stopper too hard and it doesn't fall apart. I have a 2000lb Warn winch. It's light enough to slide over the cable and feels strong enough to hold together. In winter I often use a winch when using my snow plow. I think the stopper should be able to stop a 2000lb winch. From now on I will make an extra effort not to lift the plow too high. If this new cork breaks,

Center hole is 17/32 larger than cable even on 12k winches. That's how it will slide - I used some large zip ties afterwards to keep it from moving. The hardware is not stainless steel, or at least not high quality stainless steel (since I can pick them up with a magnet), so they rust. The nuts are not fixed either.
