My tattoo artist recommended using this as a bandage during the healing period of a new tattoo and it has worked fantastic. I've treated tattoos before without them and they were all pretty tedious processes involving lots of soap, water, moisturizing lotion and of course itching. Through some medicinal black magic, the Tegaderm Bandage acts as a sheath that seals and protects the tattoo and allows it to breathe. As long as you clean the area well before applying it will also remain sterile. I apply it immediately after getting a tattoo to seal in all the nasty liquid dirt for the first day. The bandage will be removed after 24 hours to drain fluids and wash the affected area with soap and water. The second wrap is applied after drying and left for 3 days. After this time, the second foil is removed and the tattoo has mostly healed. You still have to go through the drying/dandruff/exfoliation phase, but at least the annoying sunburn/exudation phase is taken care of with no problems. The 4" x 11 yard roll sold at Revain is by far the most economical option I've come across.
