Review on πŸ’‘ Seasonic Focus SGX-650: Compact 650W Gold SFX Power Supply with Full Modular Design and Silent 120mm Fan by Drew Poulin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Incredibly quiet - but standard cables aren't the best

I wanted a new SFX power supply for my case as the full size model blocked the slot that allowed cables to be fed into the back of the case altogether make cleaner. This one hit the spot and also had 100 watts of extra power to protect me from some of the other upgrades I'd like to make (Hello Cyber Monday Sale!...don't tell your wife). First, the size is fantastic, it also comes with an ATX/SFX adapter (which some brands don't have), and it's ridiculously quiet. I had an issue with one of the wires inside the PSU itself, it was smashing into one of the holes where the screw fits in to hold it. So if I put this screw in there is a very good chance that the plastic sheath surrounding the wire will break. and possibly cause a short circuit. Everyone else was fine, so I just left that screw. The standard cables aren't the best either. SATA cables in particular are quite rigid, making it difficult to connect some components that fit snugly into the case unless you use a connector at the very end. Overall I'm giving it 4 stars for now due to the internal cable issue (a quality control issue) and the fact that I liked the standard EVGA jacketed cables a lot more than these sleeveless cables.

Pros

Cons
