This is the second meat thermometer I've bought looking for a working one. Contrary to what another reviewer said, I think the temperatures are pretty accurate. I am cooking on RARE and the meat appears to be MEDIME RARE when I eat it, but this can be the result of a long cooking time after the meat has been removed from the grill. My biggest complaint is that the display and sensor lose their ability to communicate with each other several times during the cooking process. The only way to fix this is to turn off the probe, turn off the display, turn on the probe, and turn the display back on. If this was rare I could live with it, but it happens multiple times in one cooking session. And before anyone else says anything, I've changed the batteries in both devices multiple times and this happens no matter how close or far the display is to the probe.
