I received the microphone stand and was impressed by how small but heavy the box was. I opened it up and was pleased to see the padding on the bottom pane which appeared to be quite heavy. This padding is designed to prevent abrasion on your table or other surface. It even came with a mic clip for common mic designs like the Shure SM57/58. However, I had a problem: it couldn't fully support the weight of my sE2200a II C, which I like to use for recording. I suspect it's because this mic requires me to use a shock absorber that shifts it 21.55 ounces to one side, but that's still a bummer to me. I just wish it was a little heavier to help with that. If you're using a mic that doesn't need a shock absorber, I think this is a great stand. EDIT: I changed my rating to 5 stars for two reasons. Firstly, I understand that my particular mic is quite heavy, so I thought it might be a bit unfair to judge this for all mics. Second, if I put the stand on a hard surface instead of a carpet, it would still have some tilt, but it would be able to support itself and not fall off as easily as I thought. That's why I took my rating of 4-5.
