Works very well. I bought it to make hats and scarves for charity and with a few modifications it will serve me well. 1. (Very light) The plastic thread needle that was supposed to come with the kit was missing, which doesn't matter much because I have a dozen of them. Everything else was there and working.2. Most knitting machines come with handle weights to ensure all stitches are sewn smoothly. Prym doesn't do this, but I was able to make my own using an 8" hoop, paper clips, and steel fishing lines. Be prepared to spend a little time playing with tension and creating a template before attempting to make the finished piece. Too little tension leads to lost stitches and great frustration.4. There is no line counter, so I add markers every 10 lines to keep track. Once I know the thickness, the number of rows tells me how long the piece will be.5. The circle that comes out is really too small for an adult sized hat but fits a child's size. To make an adult hat I make 2 flat panels and sew them into a tube that you can make a hat out of.
