This stuff is AMAZING. As a night shifter I thought we'd just always have a bedroom with 2 sets of blackout curtains and a blanket pinned to the wall over the window trying to block out the light. This stuff actually makes the room solid, night time dark. You may need to use electrical tape around the edges if you don't cut it *just so*, but it works great. I've detailed a little extra info below.Buy more than you need! If you get the bare minimum you may have issues, especially if you're trying to cut to fit multiple windows. To install this you will need a spray bottle that you can put soapy water in to spray on your window. This helps the film adhere to the window and makes installation easier as you can work the bubbles out. You may also want a decent box cutter, the one they provide is pretty basic but still functional. They also give you a soft squeegee that really helps get out trapped air bubbles. If you're installing this on a large window, you'll probably want a second person to help hold things in place while you cut the film off the roll (if you have extra, or bought a larger roll to do multiple windows). Expect Bubbles! Use a good amount of soapy water on a clean window in the first place and you should be able to get most of the air bubbles out, but don't be surprised if you find out later that you didn't get them all. If you try to pull the film off later after it's dried to get the airbubbles out, you may rip the film - so be careful. So long as you follow the instructions provided and take your time, you should get pretty good adhesion to your window, but you may find that you didn't get the edges perfect and some light still gets through. Invest in a new roll of electrical tape (not that roll that's been in your garage for a year or more), new electrical tape is very soft and stretchy. Cut pieces of electrical tape to fit each side of the window, or cut multiple smaller pieces for each side, don't try to go all the way around with one piece of electrical tape. Basically you're just trying to fill the light gaps between the film and your window sill with electrical tape, or tape half on the window sill and half on the sheeting. BE CAREFUL! Peeling up your electrical tape will peel up the film and you will have to rewet and restick it down with soapy water.Overall it's not terribly difficult to install and is relatively frustration free. Well worth the time and effort if you work night shift, or want your room to be a cave of darkness.
