and there was just nothing that made it look like there was a film

I swear I could not recognize that there was a clear film on this until after I had applied it. I tried to separate the clear film from the tint for several minutes, and there was just nothing that made it look like there was a film. I tried the two pieces of tape method several times, and nothing! I tried wrinkling it in between my fingers, nothing. The edge looked razor sharp, and there was no clear film that I could see.I thought they had changed their product or something. This is my first…

Pros
  • Home Décor Products
Cons
  • Cannot be used on all types of windows, limiting its versatility

Good stuff best in my review

I moved from living in a basement to an apartment where the window above my bed faced the rising sun. It was horrible, I love to wake up in a dark room. The film is relatively easy to apply, and would be better suited as a two person job, even though I did it myself. If you follow the instructions you shouldn't have any problems. Be liberal with the soap water spray, it will greatly help the adhesion and placement

Pros
  • The easy-to-install film requires no special tools or skills
Cons
  • May create unwanted glare and reflections inside the room

Amazing ! - my new review

Super easy to install! I was skeptical about how dark it would be, but I was blown away by how dark this makes it ! After you cut the film and it is dry I suggest using black electrical tape or duct tape to tape the seam where the film meets the window. No matter how close you trim it, due to the way the glass is in the frame, you will always have a tiny sliver of light coming through. I would have added a pic, but it would just be a black screen. A++++

Pros
  • The film is perfect for nurseries and children's bedrooms to ensure they get a good night's sleep
Cons
  • May reduce the window's insulation properties, affecting energy efficiency

Want to sleep! Buy this film

I am a light sleeper. My blinds with curtains could not keep my bedroom dark enough. I didn’t need a view because my apartment looked at another apartment. I did not take the film off he has a sticky part B on the window are use water. The film stays up easily. I would suggest overlapping your panels when you have to size them because light will end up coming through. Great purchase

Pros
  • BDF BLKT Day & Night 24-Hour Blackout Window Film provides insulation in the winter, keeping your home warm and cozy
Cons
  • Limited color and design options available

An Amazing Success Story

I used this film to cover 2 skylights in my bedroom & 1 skylight in the bathroom temporarily. We are remodeling & with the intense sun coming thru- upstairs was too hot to work in. We have outside temps well over 100* & this idea was our hope to see an easy remedy to reduce the inside room temperature upstairs. Application was as directed even working overhead. I sprayed both the film & interior skylight well with a mixture of dish soap & water. The film is substantial so it didn’t flop or…

Cons
  • Incompatible with certain types of blinds and curtains

Extremely complicated.

Still haven't put it up do to the immense amount of work in tailed to install it, wasn't real happy with my purchase. Who knows, when I finally do get the backing separated from the film ( near impossible with tape) we'll see how I feel about it.

Pros
  • Window Films
Cons
  • Does not block out noise from outside

Pretty easy to install if you have an extra set .

Really keeps the light out. Pretty easy to install if you have an extra set of hands helping out. My only complaint is, as I was installing the first panel, it got crinkled

Pros
  • The blackout film is perfect for those who live in areas with bright streetlights or neighbouring buildings
Cons
  • The film may shrink over time and peel off the window

cheap and easy best in my review

this fill allows for almost total darkness (great for night shift people like me). Though after nearly a year, the uv rays of the sun is starting to break down the black pigment

Pros
  • TOTAL AND COMPLETE DARKNESS that blacks out your windows to let absolutely no light through.
Cons
  • Requires professional installation to ensure proper application

Great For Shift Workers

Blocks out about 80% of direct sunlight. If you already have blackout curtains, you’ll be happy. I work straight midnights and this stuff has changed my sleeping schedule dramatically within one week of being up. No more up with sun. Buy a little extra, cut it a little bigger, over wet the windows and film, squeegee really well until all bubbles are gone. Most importantly, have a helper and take your time.

Pros
  • This film is ideal for those who live in hot climates or regions with strong sunlight
Cons
  • Cannot be cut without causing damage to the film

Truly blacksout all light!

This stuff is amazing! Truly blacks out with no sunlight coming through! It was easy to install especially if you go watch the online video they have. I work night shift and had black out curtains before that did a good job but we have cats that started to put holes in them and would open up the curtains and let light in while I was sleeping. Now with this up that won't be a problem anymore.I purchased the 36 in x 12 foot roll and my windows are 32x28 I ended up with a piece 22 x 36 left over…

Pros
  • It's ideal for bedrooms, as it blocks out early morning sunlight, allowing you to sleep in
Cons
  • May require additional layering for complete blackout effect

Want it to be dark as midnight at high noon?

I purchased this product to help block out the light from my bedroom windows. When I first started the midnight shift, I used doubled up black trash bags to keep the daylight out of my room. Which worked well until the bags became brittle and translucent from sun exposure. I read great reviews by other midnighters on this product and figured, for the price, why not give it a try.It came in a roll that let me do 4 panes of average sized bedroom windows with plenty to spare. It definitely blocks…

Pros
  • The film is perfect for those living in apartments or condos, as it provides additional privacy from neighbours
Cons
  • Prone to air pockets when applied incorrectly

Night Shifter Approved

Installation took some time and precision, follow the steps and make sure to leave that extra inch around the border and cut it when it’s on the window. Even with the extra border, it was hard to get the film right to the edge in some places, the glass on my window is "in-lay” (correct term?) meaning the frame around the glass is raised and it isn’t flush with the glass, so cutting it perfectly, even with the exact-knife didn’t happen for me. I was able to use some scraps to patch over the…

Nice tint for the price, just take your time applying

Not bad,for the price.i purchased 4 rolls of total black out(57 ×24 feet,to cover my 2600 square foot hooka bar lounge restaurant.my only issue,is the glue adhesive on the tint, that is to be applied to the window, is really not sticky or strong enough to bond with assurance, that it won't peel off.i have bought tint from various manufacturers, in which the glue is extremely strong and durable, however it cost much more.if total black out is your desire this tint is for you.But be advise this…

Pros
  • BDF BLKT Day & Night 24-Hour Blackout Window Film is ideal for those who have delicate furniture, preventing fading caused by UV rays entering through the window
Cons
  • May be difficult to clean, especially in areas with hard water

Works well, But take your time

I was a bit worried since a few reviews on here say its see through or it doesn't stick well. Well those reviews are BS. They're either lying or didn't bother to apply it right. It does require a bit of effort to apply this. They aren't kidding when they say to soak both the window and the film. If you don't, the film will stick to the window like tape. When both are wet the film is easy to adjust and move, or even remove to get a better angle. Once you apply it make sure to use the squeegee…

Pros
  • This film can be easily removed without damaging your window or leaving any residue
Cons
  • May affect the window's ability to open and close properly

This stuff is AMAZING. As a night shifter I thought we'd just always have a bedroom with 2 sets of blackout curtains and a blanket pinned to the wall over the window trying to block out the light. This stuff actually makes the room solid, night time dark. You may need to use electrical tape around the edges if you don't cut it *just so*, but it works great. I've detailed a little extra info below.Buy more than you need! If you get the bare minimum you may have issues, especially if you're…

Pros
  • The film is perfect for shift workers who struggle with sleep during the day
Cons
  • Does not provide added security to the window
