I use a lot of inexpensive photo gear as I'm not a professional and most of the time the wing nuts and bolts hold up as they should. The spring washers in this set are lighter, which is good for what I do, but the star washers have become really indispensable for a more secure grip. All of my equipment needs to be readjusted frequently and the star washers hold up very well. Spring washers are best for parts that do not require frequent adjustment.
