The chrome plating on the upper jaw peels off easily but hasn't deteriorated after a month of use. This is an F clip that is 4-3/4" from the end of the stem to the center of the lower round jaw and 5-1/2" to the top of the upper square jaw. Very strong to clamp 5 inches deep. So far I've only used it for woodworking. It works great if you attach the rubber pads to the jaws with CA glue. In my opinion, there is a star deduction for the price.
