I'm fed up with bad graters. They fall apart. you break. You become mute. They don't even stay shiny. I use it almost daily as I find it best to eat raw and grated carrots and turnips. (Beetroot seems to help prevent gallstones.) I love the results from this grater! It requires more strength and coordination than the box grater and even a little more strength than the other flat graters, but not by much. I get used to it quickly. Bonus: Suitable for carrots and beets. It will never bend or break. It fits in my suitcase. High quality metal won't leach foreign matter into my food. (I'll never forget the awful taste of cheap forks I've bought somewhere in my travels. Blue!) Okay, now you're probably thinking I'm crazy, but seriously, this is the best grater you'll ever have .
