The fact that the buckle does not fit into the usual belt loops of the pants is a feature that can be viewed as either a detriment or an asset. The disadvantage may be simply remedied; first, I removed the buckle from the end of the belt that adjusts it, then I slipped the belt itself, and finally, I reattached the buckle. When the pants are hung up in the closet with the belt attached to it and there is a heavy object hanging from the belt, the belt will not slide out of the loop on the pants even if there is weight attached to the belt.
