I've used the bigger-brand gaffers tapes for years and wasn't sure what this brand would be like. For experienced gaff-tape users, suffice it to say this brand is great! For those not that familiar with gaff, or gaffer's tape, this is what is professionally used on stage, movie and TV studios and for field work. Used for holding things in place like fabric, lightweight lighting or audio. Also used to tape down cables or the edges of hard or soft floor coverings for safety. Although from the photo it looks like duct tape, duct tape has no place in any professional application (not even ducts) because it leaves a nearly impossible to remove gummy residue, is glossy, and falls apart within months. This gaffer tape sticks like crazy and holds things amazingly well, but when removed leaves nothing behind. It has a flat black surface that makes things disappear on stage or in front of the camera. It forms well to random shapes, and it's a long-lasting product that should stay strongly in place for years. While applying it, it is easily torn from the side and tears cleanly across. When removing, you might need to cut it anywhere it was wrapped around onto itself. Excellent product from an up-and-coming brand.
