Review on Creker Printer Filament Holder Bearing by Peter Zouhair

I bought this for my Maker Select which is a cheap printer sold by Monoprice. The printer contained a spool holder that was not long enough to hold multiple spools and all my attempts to build my own failed. I wanted something with very low friction, so 3D printing wasn't an option (especially since I didn't want to coddle and filament feed the print). This holder has a very simple design, but that gives it a lot. Flexibility. You can space the two pieces as far apart as you'd like, meaning they'll fit in just about any spool you might come across. If I could recommend a design change, it would be to make the "legs" one long piece on each side instead. of two. In my case I put them on top of the printer but the legs are hanging down the sides. If the legs ran the entire length of the structure, it would be easier to place them on thin surfaces. Also, the bearings have way more resistance than I would like. I don't know if that's due to the design or the bearing itself, but it would be ideal if they could turn with a lot less force. Any resistance they create is a source of voltage for the (often plastic) mechanism that drives the filament. A little note on my photos: you'll notice that I left the old spool holder in place. In fact, it does not come into contact with the coil. It is only needed so that the coil does not fall off if the cat decides to "play" with it.
