The terminal screws are complete junk and will not support most cables as they are either too small or too big. Use washers to secure better. I would recommend going to the hardware store to buy something that isn't an instant snapped hex bolt and the wrench was about 2 sizes too small for a real bolt apart from that after I installed it, definitely noticed a clearer bass and less dimming of the headlights, but there is still something. I turn off the headlights as they draw 60 amps and my fuse on the amp is 2 x 30 amp fuses. Sort of same as if it doesn't even exist lol. There is no dimming of the interior lights as these are the most sensitive. Oh, I never said what I use as an amp. This is a pioneering 1000 watt 2 channel running into 2 ohms. I have 3 different bases. As you suggested, a good tip for doing this if you don't even need one of these is to definitely install a heavier gauge ground wire on the engine block and body. ez find it. Braided metal wire on block and body. This will help to clearly feel its wire, which is so thin. You can upgrade all your cables and all that, but if you skip it or don't, given high enough traction it will fry the ground wire and kill everything else in the car or whatever you have. Not that electric fire (hopefully not for you anyway), just do your homework and watch plenty of YouTube videos to make sure you're confident in what you're doing.
