Expected more from Canon

I've always had Dell printers with their inherent quirks so this time I decided to 'upgrade' to Canon. While this printer does a reasonable job, it's far from what I expected. FOR 1. Relatively easy to set up, but I had to resort to a USB connection to complete the process.2. Text printing is very good.3. The image pressure is only average. Even when it was new it left little lines on photos and the colors didn't seem to "jump" on you. Again I expected more. Minuses: 1. Very delicate when loading paper. This is my biggest gripe as this only works if you upload between 3 and 6 sheets at a time. More or less and it just gives you an error signal. This is very frustrating.2. The scanning software (My Image Garden) that comes with the printer is very difficult to use. I'll admit I haven't bothered with the instructions and help screens, but all I want to do is slap the document onto the machine, scan it, and save it. Canon software seems to take forever and the commands are not user friendly. In this regard, Dell is head and shoulders better than Canon. The ink empty warning appears very early. Of course, you can still continue typing, but it's a little tedious when you have a lot of ink left. This printer has problems with "sleep mode" as it takes some time to go into and out of sleep mode. But to be honest, Canon seems to struggle with this for all budget printers. Verdict: This is a decent printer for the money, but don't let the Canon name fool you. It has some quirks, but it gets the job done.
