2010 Honda Civic - My check engine light came on while the "D" Drive light was flashing. I read the computer code and it gave error P0847 - 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch. The Honda dealership charged $300 for repairs. After browsing the internet, I decided to change the pressure switch myself. It turned out to be very easy on this machine. The new switch arrived within two days so I was very happy with it and the switch came with installation instructions. The directions had to access the switch under the vehicle. The switch is located just below the transmission oil dipstick on the driver's side. I put the car on jack stands (necessary for safety!). Access was possible without removing mud flaps. You will need a 22mm wrench (or an adjustable wrench) to remove it. There were no problems removing it - it got tight, but not tight. Expect some fluid loss when removing the switch. Have a new one ready and install it right away to keep costs to a minimum. Fluid loss is not great. I plugged in the electrical connector and the check engine light went out, but the flashing "D" light didn't go out. Be sure to check the fluid level according to your vehicle's owner's manual. I've been driving for 2 weeks now and have no more problems. The cost was $36 including a liter of Honda ATF. Photo 1 shows the switch. In photo 2, a new switch has just been installed. In photo 3, a new switch with the electrical plug installed.
