Review on CL2940 Corded Speakerphone Large Display by Leo Fairchild

This device turned out to be everything I was used to from a desk phone: tiltable caller ID, hands-free function, large alphanumeric keypad. What it does NOT have is a backlight to make reading the caller ID easier. It is read in black letters/numbers on a dark gray background. Following the instructions in the owner's manual to increase the contrast was useless as the only up/down arrows are labeled "volume". pushing them up and down had no effect; the contrast remains at level "2". There's only been one call since I installed it and I just couldn't read the display, even with the flashlight I keep nearby. This review is intended to help other buyers to know if this tool suits their needs. It doesn't meet all my criteria.
