The tip was broken on arrival but the company gave it a 1 on replacement. Unfortunately, when I wanted to prepare hard-boiled eggs for egg salad, it didn't work at all. This might have worked if the hard boiled eggs were still warm, but they stayed in the fridge for about a day. However, when I went back to my old plastic potato rice cooker ($8.75), the eggs were cooked in no time. I thought a stainless steel tab would mean less flex and therefore be more comfortable on the hands, but even with some flex the plastic tab was much better and more efficient. Maybe I'll try rorens with potatoes. Perhaps he was offended at being used to mash hard-boiled eggs. You will never know.
