Amazing Effects!

This is my first time using color changing mica and I am thrilled with the results. I only used 2 colors on this lion head - gold and copper. I randomly applied each color to different areas of the shape. The mica containers appear to be very small, but it didn't take long to paint the colored "stripes" into the mold. I then used black mica to mix it with resin to darken it. So, my resin was a dark translucent pewter color. After I freed the lion head from the mold the next day, here's what happened! I should mention that this photo was taken in front of a window in direct sunlight and I think that really exacerbated the color shift and brought out the purple when I wasn't using purple. It's really adorable! When I look at a lion head in room light rather than the sun, it looks shiny gold and copper and has a metallic shimmering look to it. As for the powder and its containers, the small containers are well sealed. I had to do a little work to remove the plastic seals from each, but it was still nice to know they were sealed well. Super powder! The second I was able to carefully remove the seal, I realized it could be difficult to work with if I wasn't careful. But I was and it worked great. I absolutely LOVE these powders. The colors and effects are intense and I'm sure I'll be needing them soon! Highly recommended.

These colors are pretty, but they are not chameleon. Two of them almost are.
