No chameleon color.

I just tried it last night. Beautiful colors. But I haven't seen the expected results yet. First I tried a pink-red color. It is a mixed resin. After curing, it looks like mica powder. There is no chameleon effect at all. I tried just powder painting the mold and applied black resin to it. Looks great. But it's not the color of a chameleon.

NO CHAMELEON / NO COLOR CHANGE. COMMON MICA COLORS

Do not change color. No chameleon colors, except maybe one of those. These are beautiful micas, very pretty: fuchsia, a blue they call cyan but I would call turquoise, and a bronze green combination that looks about the same as the other color change pigments I've bought. I'm so lazy I'll probably keep them because they're pretty but overpriced compared to the standard mica they basically are.

Pros
  • Dyes
Cons
  • Some bugs

Amazing Effects!

This is my first time using color changing mica and I am thrilled with the results. I only used 2 colors on this lion head - gold and copper. I randomly applied each color to different areas of the shape. The mica containers appear to be very small, but it didn't take long to paint the colored "stripes" into the mold. I then used black mica to mix it with resin to darken it. So, my resin was a dark translucent pewter color. After I freed the lion head from the mold the next day, here's whatโ€ฆ
