A bit tricky to install alone. The straps keep slipping out of the slots, and even when fully primed, the straps didn't stay in the slots very well. Although it would be inconvenient to thread the straps through the closed slots for initial installation, I think this will make future use much easier. I don't know if telescopic poles can carry snow loads. I think I'll tape them down so they don't slide off. Or I could screw a small self-tapping screw into the posts to keep them at the correct height. The concept is pretty good, but the support/harness system alone wasn't enough for my 21ft open bow boat. I bought 1 for the open bow and 1 for the back of the boat.
