To pull over the steering wheel with some effort. My wife tried the one she bought for her car and couldn't make it. Once you've made one, the second will be easier. Just spin it around the wheel slowly, stretching as you go. After that, the fit is perfect and very comfortable. I used to buy the ones you laced up, they're fine, but after a while they unravel and the laces unravel. This case looks a lot better. We returned another brand that we bought from the local parts store, it's much better.
