The tent is a rectangular shape with 2 opposite corners clipped off just slightly which is where the two crossed poles span. I didn't realize it was asymmetric until I had set it up and noticed that the rainfly did not drape properly, a quick 180 degree rotation of the rainfly fixed that problem. Like all tents in this price range it had very cheap 6" nail-style stakes with a hook at one end; I threw 12 out of 14 of those away and replaced them with $10 Y-profile Orange Tent Stakes Pegs , adding a $15 Blue Waterproof Poly Tarp 9' X 12' . I also bought a $15 Kelty Gear Loft (the tent has loops and instructions for a loft but no loft is included) : so my total cost is $150. Still, $150 for a 4-season 2-man (or 3-teen) tent is NOTHING (I have never seen a lightweight 4-season for less than $200) and I am ecstatic so far about my purchase. We love the fact that it has 2 doors and 2 vestibules so nobody has to climb over anybody to hit a bush in the middle of the night. Total weight is 6.27 lbs (2850 grams). The tent includes a nice carry-bag with 3 nylon straps, peg bag, pole bag, pegs, poles (12.5" length x 14 sections x 3), tent, and rainfly. On our 7-day trip I used it 4 nights, never staking it down, it was easy to flip over and clean just by shaking. During setup if you install the 2 crossed poles first then the tent stands by itself a 7' x 18" rectangle, making further setup easy to do and making you look like a wizard for getting a standing tent in 3 mins. During a 1-hour rainstorm it did not leak. Five Stars.
