. me about how TCs were notorious for having check engine lights even though the gas cap looked ok.
My Scion TC's check engine light was on constantly until my mechanic told me that despite the normal looking gas cap, TCs were notorious for blowing out the check engine lights because of their gas caps. I got these, turned them on and the light hasn't been on since I bought them a long time ago. It also locks, but I rarely lock it, and no one has ever tried to get in without a key, so I can't comment on how well it protects your gas tank from theft or tugs.
