These containers are very durable. The lid is about 3mm thick and the walls are about 2mm thick. The plastic flexes a little, and filling the container may flex the sides a bit. External dimensions are 5.5 x 13.3 x 3 and internal dimensions are 4.75 x 12.875 x 2.625. The hinge doesn't go all the way through, but stops at an angle of 110-120 degrees from the top. As another reviewer pointed out, this is not a clip-on container. I use it to tidy up all my phone cords, flash drives and everything in between. Keeps the table clean and tidy!
