I bought 3 of these scanners because they got such good reviews. I can only describe the product as rubbish. To try and use it, I had to "tweak" the scanner by unplugging and plugging it back in before use and sometimes during use because it would freeze. In addition, the sound card had to be removed from the computer. Help from Microtek did not help, and they themselves did not know how to deal with problems. the programs he brought would be very helpful. I only know this because I used a different scanner with the software that came with Microtek. 3 Microtek scanners are now serving as a very expensive paperweight after 3 months of trying to do anything but magic to get them to work on different computers around the office.
