Review on πŸ”§ Spicer 5-178X U-Joint Kit 1350 Series (OSR): Reliable and Durable Joint Replacement Solution by Rick Marie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits 2007 Mustang 4.0L (models with interchangeable gimbals)

They appear to be of very good quality and are driving very well so far. They didn't eliminate the "click" when shifting between P, R, and D on a 2005-2009 Mustang, but I believe the chatter is just normal play (backlash tolerance) in the transmission and also the two-piece. Drive shaft coming from Ford. I'll try to update my rating after I've driven a few thousand miles or if I have any issues with them. U CONNECTIONS ARE SUITABLE. I've spent a lot of time on the internet and only found one or two forum posts that mentioned this d-pad as an alternative to the factory Ford gimbals. I took a chance and went with these posts even though Revain and almost every other site on the internet says they don't fit my car. Advance Auto, Autozone etc didn't have anything in their systems for universal joints to fit my car. Since the Mustang is rear-wheel drive and obviously has gimbals, this really annoyed me. In short. If you have a s197 Mustang with a V6 and spare gimbals (not sure about the V8 model) these gimbals will work for you, or at least they fit me fine and were exactly the same size as the gimbals from the Factory . UPDATE: I've driven the car over 10,000 miles now since installing these gimbals with no problems other than some excess grease leaking out from under my car, but that was probably due to adding grease through the Zerk have. Faucets when I installed them I may have put too much into them. No noise etc. still strong. I will update the review if I encounter any issues with them which I consider premature failure.
