The BEST keyboard you can buy, both in terms of key feel and ergonomic/correct design!

Long review ahead: short version, just buy and try it. You won't get her back, trust me! Not only is this an absolutely fantastic SPLIT style keyboard, it's also one of the best in terms of keys and tactile feel I've ever had. I've tried all the usual mechanical keyboards, blue and brown switches (totally overpriced in my opinion), as well as the legendary spring switches. Yes, it's a rubber dome BUT it still feels like a quiet and light-feeling Flex Spring keyboard (like the IBM Model M) to me, without all the rumble that a Flex Spring keyboard or a cherry blue switch (or even brown). . It has a nice feel on the keys and sounds similar to a Topre keyboard (on YouTube) and has a nice muted "thock" sound, no rattling. Even large stabilized keys are mostly silent, and a silent key or two can be made quieter by adding some white grease (search for elite keyboard grease on amzn) to the metal stabilizer under the key after carefully removing it with a keycap remover or curious very careful his. This keyboard has a slightly shorter key travel than a full-height keyboard; about 80%, but short enough that it's actually the best travel distance in my opinion, and allows for a very quick and light touch on the keys, but still gives the satisfying "typing" you get on a full-travel keyboard . As mentioned above, the button feels light, but not overly light, and has a nice tactile click (think about the spiral spring) that you don't get with an overpriced brown-style MX switch. Arms and shoulders are in a very natural typing position, and it also has a full-size wrist rest to rest your palms on when not actively typing. One thing some people might complain about is the arrow and home key combo; Don't let that stop you from trying this board. I actually prefer this layout because it allows you to keep your trackball (or mouse) closer to your hands than if you were using the standard IBM layout. Once you get used to the neater arrangement of the arrow keys and the Home/End/Delete group, you'll find that this is very logical and actually makes more sense. So, IMO, I think this is indeed a better layout than the old IBM format. Your mileage may vary. I've been using split keyboards since the original MS came out in the late 90's and this Perixx split keyboard is very similar to the old Elite version of MS but much better. The key feel and overall design, along with the split spacebar, make THIS the best split keyboard money can buy, not to mention it's an incredible value. I pair this board with a Logitech M570 trackball and it's a match made in heaven. My hands and wrists never hurt and typing on this board is very comfortable and the muted/quiet, light, instantaneous tactile feedback is incredible. I've never enjoyed a keyboard more than this one. It ticks ALL the checkboxes. I would happily pay 2-3x what they charge for it. And there are other boards that don't compare to this one. Note: I was NOT paid or compensated in any way to write this review and I don't usually write reviews unless I really like something. I LOVE this keyboard :-) and so will you. If you're new to using split keyboards, just use them for a week and you'll never go back to a non-split board, and if/if you need to use a "regular" keyboard, you'll wonder how you do that ever done. Write to me in the questions section, I'm happy to share my experiences or answer your questions. Happy typing!
