I had the right tools. I had the right screws. I knew how it works. It is NOT LIKELY to be a ready-to-use product. That was my story. The manufacturer could be more generous with holes; That said, if they just drilled two more holes in their pattern, that would be a bolt to me. I had to drill two holes in the base plate to use the maximum height for my application. I then had to turn the two backing plates upside down to line them up with the two new holes as above. All threaded rods are very long. I assume they will work with different trailer frame sizes. I figured I'd just cut them to the length I needed after everything was installed. Incorrect. Now the hardware part of the story was a real turtle! In my opinion all threaded rods come from one country and the nuts from another country. On the plus side, the shims worked well. I dismantled the device and took screws and nuts of the appropriate length. My wheel stud pattern required that I use the top alternate hole. Not a big deal, but I threw away those carriage bolts and replaced them with bolts that match my trailer's lug nuts. Since these aren't carriage bolts, I welded them to the back of the tire mounting plate and added lockable lug nuts like those found on my trailer wheels. Much luck.
