Review on Farberware Color Measuring Mixed Colors by Melissa Parker

EDIT: I no longer recommend it as a gift and am deducting two stars from my rating. After a second run through the top shelf of our premium dishwasher, the writing almost completely disappeared from the mugs we used - the cardboard backing they came with said these mugs were dishwasher safe. there are only four sizes, they are still easy to tell apart even with the lettering deleted, but they are definitely not suitable as a gift. ________________________________________________ As other reviewers have said, the bright colors on this Farberware measuring cup set are cheerful and make it easy to tell what size you're going for without having to look twice. I didn't want to buy such a set of cups, but the high prices of the glass measuring cups combined with the positive reviews for this set made me willing to take the risk. Unlike my last unnamed set, they're hard plastic and not flexible, making them durable, meaning the handles won't flex under the weight of liquids or dense ingredients. like sugar. And unlike silicone, you don't have to worry about them fading or becoming brittle after too many washes in the dishwasher. The sizes are printed in bold silver font that contrasts well with each of the colors making them easy to read. unlike some sets where the numbers are embossed. They have all survived a run through the top rack of my dishwasher and the seal has not broken off. Best of all, they actually fold: they lie flat enough to fit in a narrow-profile drawer. Many sets are shaped so that the handles cause each cup to sit at an angle, making storage a bit awkward; everything is wrong with them! Conclusion: This is a great combination of form and function at a reasonable price. I am planning to buy another set for myself and think they would be adorable as part of a kitchen themed gift basket.
