A great replacement for our LG microwave top lamp. The microwave oven has a night light setting as well as a full-on mode. And yes, there is a slightly noticeable flicker at slightly reduced light output (for the techies: the flicker is probably around 30Hz, as the output is probably half wave diode rectifying the applied 60Hz mains frequency). Flickering is largely dependent on the methodology used in the design of the microwave used to dim the light. But for use with this microwave it works very well. Its light and bright color really falls between soft and bright white (between 2700K and 3000K). The only way to really know how the night light dimming setting works is to try it and see if you find it undesirable. not in this case! HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS AS AN INTERNAL SPARE LIGHT IN A RUBBER MICROWAVE OVEN! THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE LAMP AND POSSIBLY THE MICROWAVE.
