Review on πŸ“· TP-Link Tapo C200: Full HD Pan Tilt WiFi Camera with Night Vision | Works with Alexa and Google by Jacob Seymour

Functional, but not the best

The application is designed for phones with an unusual aspect ratio, such as. B. modern Galaxy devices, poorly formatted. The camera delivers a good picture, but lags far behind in high-quality mode, since it works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (interference often occurs). The camera is not accessible over the internet, so you must use the Tapo app to view it. However, it can be accessed as an ONVIF camera or RTSP stream if you don't mind the image lag or lack of controls. I was a bit annoyed by the limited vertical range of the camera. In normal mode, it cannot face the ground, so observing your pets requires some creativity. I had to install mine upside down. Only to find that it can't look straight up either, so it needs to be placed in a corner as it can't see directly below (maybe use multiple cameras to hide blind spots). I love that the app lets you save specific positions pan/tilt for quick access to key locations in a room, like doors or valuables, but I haven't figured out how to automatically move the camera between locations to keep an eye on the entire room. If you want to use this for motion alerts, you need to set a specific display location and leave it there. Even for a single room you will probably need at least two of these cameras and be prepared to drill holes in the ceiling as this camera does not support universal mounts and the box mount is just a disc that you screw into the ceiling/wall. The power cord is a decent length, allowing me to get from the nearest outlet to where I wanted to mount the camera, but you may need an extension cord if you want to install it somewhere other than directly above an outlet. .
