The product is excellent I connected it to the ground of the rear light and it disconnects from the reversing light and constant red Perfomance. The line works fine either, my biggest problem was I installed the button and then ran the wiring to the main unit to check everything was working before proceeding to hide the wires, couldn't get it to work, tested all Cable with a voltmeter, googled everything, nothing so far, but when the lock button is pressed to open the trunk, the power to the camera is cut. Even though the trunk lid was in the down position I didn't close it all the way, it just lay closed after losing my mind for 3 hours. I closed the trunk properly, drove the car backwards in disgust and everything worked out perfectly. I felt a little silly, but the camera doesn't have a manual, does it? Quality and fit are very good, I can recommend. The red wire is for power, the black red wire is for ground, and make sure you plug the AV adapter into the right spot on the back of the radio, I had a factory plug that I had to unplug, that was it VW wiring for the factory camera. Don't just assume it's an empty slot
