I'm not sure what I'm thinking. Mixed feelings

Package arrived and I was keen to try it on my 2004 Silverado with an ABS issue. So I plugged it in and it started asking me all sorts of questions about the year the engine model was made. Code so I did a little guessing and got the pump code. I assumed the pump was the ABS module. I then tried to find the code online with no further information other than some pomp. I decided to update the device online so that it has all the latest information. Due to the missing information in the manual I contacted the support team. It turns out that you cannot directly install or install the update on this computer. You must have a card reader to remove the micro smart card from the device and connect it to your computer. I wonder how many people have this device handy. I was lucky enough to be able to upgrade the car to 2018. Now that the updates are installed, I connected the device to my 04 Silverado. He made a connection. I did a scan and got some information which I still don't understand as it didn't have any codes but listed a $10 module and a $18 module? I couldn't find any other information. So I clicked on the code list and no codes showed up. Next I wanted to scan the ABS system. I was again prompted to enter a bunch of information about my car, even though the device had an 04 Silverado. Then I got a communication error. So I tried again and again and again I got a communication error. The device reads OBD codes but no longer communicates with my ABS system. I've been busy with other things to come back to this issue and try to figure out what's going on. If I find the time I'll try again and may have to contact support again to find out what the problem could be. Overall the device appears to be serviceable but like anything you buy today you need to buy it before you can figure out what it does and doesn't do in order to get everything working. The instructions could be clearer. There is no jury yet. My friend bought a BOSH at O-Riley's for about the same price. Local support and he claims he doesn't need to enter all of this information to get the codes on his ABS system. But knowing this friend he might not have the faintest idea yet as most likely he has never tried to scan anything other than OBD.
