Liked the size and longer lead wire. The update software is free for this model, but to be honest it is very difficult to install. Be sure to look for a video with (several) instructions on how to upgrade. Autel really needs to correct their procedures.

Already have the old INNOVA 3160 and it reads engine, live data + ABS codes BUT only for domestic vehicles with ABS (Ford, Chevy + Chrysler) . Nothing good with Asian or European. So I got an Autel ML629 for ABS on my Honda + Volkswagen and also got SRS and Tranny codes! Much more information at half the price and works on many more vehicles. Very easy to use. Straightforward with UI.......I love it!

Very useful tool. I bought this unit because I have several cars, one of which had an airbag light. I went to the shop and they told me my airbag was defective and that I needed a new sear and a module reset, that's utter nonsense. I checked the code with it and it did indeed find the code for the driver's seat airbag. But after checking under my seat, I found that it was because my wiring caught on the slider and one of the wires broke. I fixed the wire and the bamm stopped glowing, definitely

My 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe had an airbag light on the dashboard. The code readers at the local auto parts store can only diagnose engine faults, so I had a choice of going to the dealer and getting "dealer treatment" or buying my own code reader. I bought it because of the Autel brand and because it's a lot cheaper than those sold for professional use. It is easy to use and requires no batteries. May work well for other cars but not so good for Jaguar X-Type Found an accelerator pedal position fault code. (He bought a Maxicom MK-808BT and found the X type was on the list. Besides the gas pedal switch he also found 3 other codes.) ML629 returned. What I didn't like about the 629 was the fact that every time you update or check for updates, I have to remove the 8GB SD card and put it in the card reader. This device has very limited value for money. I've used several different Bluetooth OBDII devices ranging from $25-$45 that offer significantly more features. I tried it on 3 different cars and it didn't work properly on any of the 3. Problem with one of the three cars I tested it on. One of the cars I've tried it on is a 1998 Ford Van and it's definitely OBDII, but it reads it as OBDI instead. It also had virtually no PIDs available.
